Musk's "million-dollar lottery" lawsuit failed to reach US federal court
A federal judge in Pennsylvania has sent back to state court a lawsuit against prominent American entrepreneur Elon Musk's "million-dollar raffle" to try to influence the US election. Larry Krasner, the prosecutor in Philadelphia, filed a lawsuit against Mr. Musk and the "American Political Action Committee" on October 28, accusing them of illegally operating lotteries to try to influence the presidential election. At a hearing on October 31, Judge Angelo Fleetta of Pennsylvania said that because of Mr. Musk's application to move his lawsuit to federal court, he no longer has jurisdiction over the case unless the federal court sends the case back to state court. It is reported that Musk supported former US president and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and spent millions of dollars to support his campaign. Mr. Musk announced a $1 million raffle through a "US political action committee" aimed at boosting voter registration in competitive districts.
