US election live: "Swing state" Pennsylvania says voting time will be extended due to "software glitch"
The office of the county commission in Cumbria, Pa., a swing state, said voting hours had been extended because of a "software glitch" that prevented voters from scanning ballots.
County election officials insisted that "procedures are in place to deal with such issues" and that glitches "should not prevent voters from casting ballots in their own voting districts".
"When we got there [Luciew and his wife] it was surprisingly empty," said Mr. Luciew, the voter. "People left saying the machine was broken. After going in to confirm the problem, we decided to wait until the machine was back to normal."
