Tether assists Canadian police in recovering $7,186 in stolen funds
On November 9, according to Cointelegraph, the Ontario Provincial Police Service (OPP) thanked stablecoin issuer Tether for assisting in the investigation and froze approximately CAD 10,000 (US $7,186) of Tether stablecoins stolen from individuals, which have now been returned to the victims. Addison Hunter, OPP's chief of detective staff, said: "With the voluntary assistance and cooperation of Tether International Ltd., the stolen digital assets were successfully seized and returned to the victims. This collaboration was instrumental in ensuring the speedy recovery of the assets".
