Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE): The US tax code must be simplified
The official X account of the Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE) tweeted: In 1955, the US tax code was less than 1.50 million words. Today, it is more than 16 million words. Because of this complexity, Americans spend a total of 6.50 billion hours a year preparing and filing their taxes. This must be simplified.
