Taiko plans to upgrade BCR mainnet protocol to 1.7.0 version on July 1
Taiko announced in a post on the X platform that it will upgrade the Taiko BCR mainnet protocol to the 1.7.0 version on July 1, which is compatible with the current Taiko-geth and client side versions ABI, but includes underlying protocol changes affecting block proponents and proofs. Major updates include:
1. The designated prover of the block must also be the proponent.
2. The block prover needs to verify that the stateRoot of the existing transformation is zero. If so, the protocol will only compare blockHash to determine whether another transformation is disputed.
3. Reduce the validity and dispute warranty of the Living Guarantee and SGX Proof by 50%.
4. Gas optimization;
5. Upgraded the Hekla testnet protocol, which may cause some block proposals and proof transactions to fail. It is recommended that all Hekla block proponents and proofs update their transaction parameters as soon as possible.
