Analyst: Musk may bring strong tailwind to counterfeit products, and it is only a matter of time before the X platform has a digital asset wallet
John Divine, a digital asset over the counter at BlockFills, said it was "only a matter of time before the X platform has a digital asset wallet function", which is in line with Musk's development trajectory from PayPal to Tesla and SpaceX.
On Mr. Trump's proposal to scrap the capital gains tax on counterfeit products in the US, Divine said, "In the short term, this will create a lot of volume for these markets." He pointed to tokens such as Algorand, Hedera and Cardano as potential beneficiaries. He called the move a "huge catalyst" for the counterfeit products market.
With bitcoin stabilising, Divine expects money to flow into counterfeit products. "It's clear - Musk is fully committed to building the digital asset infrastructure," he concluded. "Combined with Trump's policy moves, counterfeit products will have a strong tailwind."
