Former SoftBank venture capitalist Akshay Naheta is considering selling his stake in a stablecoin startup
According to people familiar with the matter, former SoftBank Group executive Akshay Naheta, known for overseeing some of his biggest deals, is currently in preliminary talks to sell a minority stake in the stablecoin payments startup he co-founded.
Distributed Technologies Research Ltd., a stablecoin that uses blockchain to handle cross-border transfers, will use the funds to expand into new markets, including the United States, said people familiar with the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the talks are private. They said the size and valuation of the initial public offering were not yet known because the company is in talks with a number of strategic investors and venture capital firms.
