Tesla's Texas lithium refinery has officially started production, becoming the first North American automaker to process lithium in-house
On December 16th, Tesla's large lithium refinery in Texas officially entered operation, just one and a half years after it broke ground. In May last year, Tesla announced on its official website that the lithium refinery broke ground and revealed that the company will invest more than 1 billion US dollars in the plant. After reaching the volume, the plant is expected to produce about 50GWh of battery-grade lithium per year.
