UK Financial Conduct Authority: Cryptocurrency offers for sale will be banned
The U.K. intends to ban the public offering of cryptocurrencies, the Financial Conduct Authority said Monday in its filing on the upcoming cryptocurrency regime. The government will create laws to ban the offering for sale of cryptocurrencies, which will draw on the U.K.'s promotional rules to bar unregistered cryptocurrency companies from accessing U.K. customers. Only crypto-asset trading platforms and products that qualify for the exemption will be exempt from this restriction.
