The electoral college meeting is a key link in the US presidential election system. The president needs to obtain 270 of the 538 electoral votes to be elected. The final statistics show that Trump won 312 electoral votes. Next, the electoral votes of each state will be sent to Congress. Members of Congress will officially count the electoral votes at a joint meeting on January 6 and declare Trump and Vance as the next president and vice president respectively.
