Crypto-friendly lawmaker Bernie Moreno has been appointed to the Senate Banking Committee
Cryptocurrency-friendly Senator-elect Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) has been appointed to the Senate Banking Committee. The Senate Banking Committee, which could be key to the launch of crypto-related bills in 2025, has jurisdiction over two key agencies: the Securities Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Other pro-cryptocurrency lawmakers, including Senator Cynthia Loomis (R-Wyo), have been assigned to remain on the committee.
The full Senate is expected to confirm the appointments early in the next Congress. Moreno was also named to the Senate Commerce Committee, the Senate Budget Committee and the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, according to the statement.
