Sources: Trump is "100% serious" about "taking back" Greenland and Panama Canal
According to the New York Post, sources close to US President-elect Trump have revealed that Trump is "100% serious" about "taking back" Greenland and the Panama Canal, adding that he had studied Greenland in his first term. In the final year of his first term, Trump laid out a "workable" negotiating plan aimed at securing the support of the semi-autonomous Greenland's 56,000 residents, mostly Inuit, before sending the local residents' decision to Copenhagen, Denmark, for approval and then "handing over" Greenland, the sources said. If successful, Greenland's relationship with the US would be similar to that of the Pacific island nations of Palau, the Marshall Islands and Micronesia.
