Musk revealed that he switched to using Lilly weight loss pills: the effect is better than Novo Nordisk's competitors, with fewer side effects

On social media platform X on Wednesday, Mr. Musk revealed that he was using Eli Lilly's Mounjaro to lose weight. On X, Mr. Musk posted a photo of himself dressed as Santa standing next to a Christmas tree with the caption "Ozempic Santa". He later confirmed in several posts that he was indeed using drugs similar to Ozempic to lose weight. "Technically, I use Mounjaro, but the name doesn't sound that interesting," he explained. Ozempic is a diabetes drug owned by Novo Nordisk, and Wegovy is a weight loss drug from the company. Both products have the same active ingredient, Semaglutide. Mounjaro, Lilly's diabetes drug with the same active ingredient as Zepbound, the company's weight-loss drug, called Tirzepatide, Mr. Musk said he initially tried Ozempic to lose weight because high doses of the drug caused him to "fart and burp like Barney on The Simpsons." "Mounjaro seems to have fewer side effects and better results," he added.
