Theta unveils 2025 roadmap: Hybrid cloud edge architecture for EdgeCloud to be launched in June

Decentralized streaming platform Theta has released a roadmap for 2025. The first half of 2025 will focus on launching EdgeCloud's Hybrid Cloud Edge Architecture in June and expanding the fast-growing edge network. A developer API interface will also be released to provide developers with the tools they need to develop efficiently on EdgeCloud. Other major features will be rolled out based on the needs of current EdgeCloud customers, such as persistent storage, GPU node upgrades, and on-demand API access to AI models. Together with the beta version of the AI Agents platform, these features will automate the use of AI models through on-chain autonomous interactions to enable a large number of use cases and drive continued adoption by customers in target key areas such as academia, private enterprise, professional sports, and electronic sports. The second half of the year will see the expansion of Theta Hackathon as an offline event and ongoing support for the Theta ecosystem project. Discussions are underway with several well-known professional sports and electronic sports teams in the hope that EdgeCloud will help them develop their AI strategy and have the opportunity to launch sub-chains to support their business use cases. Third-party platforms are also considering integrating TDROP as a customer engagement token, starting with OpenTheta, with more platforms coming online by 2025. In addition, the TDROP brand is being evaluated and possibly re-branded to extend its utility to AI agents, RAG chatbots, and other consumer-facing AI and video AI applications built on EdgeCloud. Finally, EdgeCloud's hybrid edge cloud architecture, including intelligent job orchestration and optimization, and full support for Linux, Windows, and Mac, will be fully released in 2025.
