The judge granted Ripple and SEC's request to seal certain court documents
According to Coinedition, Senior U.S. District Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton granted a request by Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and the SEC to seal certain court documents. As the case progresses, the parties can now keep sensitive information confidential.
The sealed documents included key exhibits related to summary judgment and expert testimony that were crucial to the case. The court ruled under the Ninth Circuit's "compelling reasons" rule.
Ripple sought the sealing of eight exhibits related to summary judgment and 56 exhibits against the SEC motion. At the same time, the SEC requested the sealing of some of its exhibits, including expert testimony.
