Rarimo announces the launch of the app RariMe
Rarimo has announced the launch of the app RariMe, which allows users to generate zero-knowledge proofs (ZKs) of their passports, verifying their uniqueness without revealing their identities.
Unlike Worldcoin, which uses a sphere to scan its eyeballs, Rarimo uses a smartphone to scan passports and authenticate its users. Identification frameworks usually have third-party approval credentials, but ZK ensures that no personal data is shared when verifying identities.
Kitty Horlick, director of Rarimo provider Rarilabs, said that just as decentralized applications (Dapps) can control certain things with human proofs, they can now do the same with proof of citizenship or proof of age, and simply request those proofs.
