Ken Martin has been elected chairperson of the Democratic National Committee

On February 1 local time, Ken Martin, chairperson of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, was elected as the new chairperson of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). The Democratic National Committee is the official governing body of the Democratic Party of the United States. It is responsible for coordinating campaign strategies for candidates in state, local and national elections in the United States, organizing the Democratic National Convention every four years to determine the party's presidential nomination, and formulating the platform of the Democratic Party of the United States.
