According to Beincrypto, Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has dismantled a large cryptocurrency criminal gang and arrested hundreds of potential criminals, 53 of whom have been formally charged. Police recovered only about $200,000 in assets, but have confirmed the existence of nearly $3 million in other types of deposits. Given the global spread of criminal activity, the total amount involved in the operation and where these assets were laundered are uncertain. According to reports, these fraudsters have carried out a number of different operations, all of which fall under the category of cryptocurrency crimes.
