Trading platform Robinhood (HOOD) 's fourth-quarter earnings and revenue exceeded analysts' expectations.
According to FactSet, Robinhood said its fourth-quarter revenue rose 115 percent year-over-year to $1.01 billion, beating Wall Street analysts' expectations of $945.80 million. The company said in a statement that its trading revenue rose 200 percent year-over-year, primarily due to a 700 percent increase in cryptocurrency-related revenue.
Robinhood also reported earnings of $1.01 per share, beating the average estimate of $0.42. HOOD shares rose more than 5% in after-hours trading on Wednesday.
