Hong Kong High Court issues'injunction 'through blockchain technology for the first time

On February 18, according to a report by Hong Kong Wenhui Network, the Hong Kong High Court issued a "tokenized injunction" to two suspected fraudulent virtual asset wallet addresses for the first time last month through blockchain technology. After the injunction was issued, anyone trying to transact with the virtual asset wallet involved could see the injunction content stored on the blockchain. Xu Zhengyu, secretary of the Hong Kong Treasury, said that the issuance of injunction through blockchain technology provides a feasible solution for handling legal affairs in the field of virtual assets, and sets an important precedent for Hong Kong to handle similar cases in the future. Hong Kong is vigorously building a fintech innovation ecosystem and is committed to improving the regulatory framework for virtual assets through regulations such as the Draft Regulations.
