LayerZero CEO Responds to Code Questions: Not Vulnerabilities, but Protocol Design Principles
On July 1st, Bryan Pellegrino, CEO of LayerZero, tweeted in response to the code challenge, calling the allegations baseless. It said that the code referenced by the community was released in 2022, and that the configurations were security configurations for the application, not protocol configurations. Even in the latest version, the application can still override this limit, preventing LayerZero from blocking messaging by configuring the load limit to 0. This is not a vulnerability, but a design principle of the protocol, designed to ensure the censorship resistance of the technology track.
