OKX CEO Star: Bloomberg report is misleading, OKX Web3 wallet is purely self-hosted software
OKX CEO Star posted on the X platform that OKX Web3 wallet is a purely self-hosted software. OKX DEX is a DEX aggregator, and previous reports by Bloomberg were incorrect and misleading. Bybit used OKX's wallet/DEX API to build its own Web3 wallet and DEX foundation.
Following the Bybit hack, the OKX Law Enforcement Response Team emailed Bybit directly to prioritize communication with them, and the OKX Legal Team communicated directly with the Bybit Legal Team to provide any assistance. There have been multiple freezes since the collaboration, but the exact numbers will not be disclosed to avoid tipping off the hackers. When Bybit said it was unable to track the funds after the cross-chain bridge activity, OKX provided technical support by guiding them on how to operate.
OKX developed a system to track hackers' latest addresses and blocks in real time in the CEX system, and also urgently developed a hacker address detection system for Web3 DEX, which was launched within a few days. OKX is always working with global regulators and is happy to discuss potential future Web3 regulations with them.
