White House appoints Musk to assist in leading investigation into Signal chat leak

According to Fox coverage, White House press secretary Karen Lane Levitt said Wednesday that Elon Musk is assisting in leading the investigation into the leak of a Signal chat involving the nation's top security leader and the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic. Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor of The Atlantic, revealed in an article published Monday that he had been added to a Signal group chat that included top national security leaders like Mike Waltz, the national security adviser, Pete Hegseth, the defense secretary, and John Ratcliffe, the director of the Central Intelligence Agency. The Trump administration has faced a backlash from Democrats and other critics since then.
