Nigeria plans to establish AI and blockchain research centres across the country
The Nigerian government, through the National Information Technology Development Authority (NITDA), has unveiled plans to establish research centres in six geopolitical zones across the country that will focus on emerging technologies such as AI, IoT and blockchain. NITDA Director General Kashifu Inuwa announced the initiative at the opening of the West Africa IoT Conference in Lagos, according to local media reports. Inuwa, represented by Aristotle Onumo, Director of Corporate Planning and Strategy at NITDA, highlighted the agency's commitment to developing a strong technology research ecosystem.
