The Nigerian court will rule on the Binance tax evasion case on October 11
The High Court in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, will render judgement in Binance's tax evasion case on October 11, 2024. According to its statement, Binance faces four charges of tax evasion, including failure to register with the Federal Revenue Service of Nigeria (FIRS) for tax purposes. According to local media reports, Binance's lawyer, Ayodele Omotilewa, appeared before Judge Emeka Nwite on Friday, July 12 to plead not guilty to all four charges. Omotilewa urged the judge to dismiss the charges, arguing that the case lacked substance and was similar to the previous dismissal of charges against Binance executives, Tigran Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla. Judge Nwite decided to adjourn the case until October for further consideration and examination of the evidence presented. This gave the defence and prosecution more time to prepare their respective cases.
