The number of transactions and active addresses on the Base chain has reached a record high
According to The Block, both the number of transactions and the number of active addresses on the Base chain hit record highs. On July 15, the Base chain recorded 3.28 million transactions. By the end of the week on July 19, that number had climbed to 3.52 million, with an average daily increase of about 1.8% over the week.
While the number of transactions surged, Base also recorded a record number of active addresses. The number of active addresses increased from 567,000 on July 15 to nearly 650,000 on Friday, July 19, with an average daily increase of about 3.5% over the same period.
At the same time, Base's fees have skyrocketed significantly, with fees collected on July 20 reaching their highest single-day total in more than a month at $177,000.
Base still lags Arbitrum in terms of total lock-up value (TVL) on the chain. At press time, Base's TVL is $1.77 billion, while Arbitrum's TVL is $3.25 billion.
