Fortune: Rising BNB makes CZ richer in prison, its net worth has grown by $4.10 billion in 2024
According to Fortune magazine, in the first week of Binance co-founder CZ's four-month prison sentence in the United States, BNB soared to an all-time high, making him the richest man in US federal prison history. According to CoinGecko data, BNB's price climbed to a peak of $717.48 last Thursday, and its market value rose to $109 billion, more than doubling since the beginning of the year.
Kaiko analyst Dessislava Aubert said that BNB's recent rally was foreshadowed in the derivatives market trading pattern in late May, with Binance still accounting for 85% of global BNB trading volume. Since most of CZ's net worth is denominated in BNB, its net worth has grown by $4.10 billion in 2024. While CZ has never disclosed how much BNB he owns, according to the 2017 BNB initial coin offering white paper, 80 million tokens were allocated to the founding team and are currently worth around $56 billion.
