Web3Caff Research Releases Seven Derivative Leading Narratives of Modular Blockchain: Is the Future of Multi-Chain Modular Entering a Full-blown Season?
On July 29th, Web3Caff Research, a research and analysis platform for the Web3 industry, recently released an in-depth research report on the leading narrative of the seven derivatives of the modular blockchain. Fang Jun, a partner at Uweb and a special researcher at Web3Caff Research, pointed out in the report that the Web3 infrastructure is being fully modular. This trend is often referred to as the so-called "modular blockchain", which is the most fundamental cornerstone for building a multi-chain world in the future. The best starting point for discussing modularity is Ethereum. The expansion of Ethereum is centered on Rollup, and its typical phenomenon is the emergence of L2. Ethereum L2 brings the need for middleware layers, such as DA, Rollup framework, shared sequencer, interoperability, ZK proof service, etc. Previously, modular blockchain discussions were mostly focused on the Rollup framework or DA layer, so this research paper attempts to observe from a larger perspective to get a bird's-eye view. Starting from the starting point of Ethereum, the modular blockchain narrative is derived into seven major narratives (Ethereum, DA, Rollup, Cosmos, BTC L2, Middleware, ZK).
