BlackRock executive: There will be no other cryptocurrency ETFs in the foreseeable future
Samara Cohen, chief investment officer for exchange traded funds ETFs and index investments at BlackRock, said in an interview with Bloomberg TV that while Bitcoin and Ethereum have met the investment giant's minimum expectations for ETFs, no other digital asset has come close, and interest in other currency ETFs (especially Solana) has yet to emerge, apart from the technical difficulties of bringing new ETFs to market. "BlackRock does look at investability to see what meets the criteria and what meets the ETF delivery criteria, and for us, both from investability and from what we hear from customers, Bitcoin and Ethereum definitely meet that criteria, but it will be a while before we see anything else," Samara Cohen explained.
