According to The Information, citing people familiar with the matter, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently told shareholders that he is considering changing its governance structure to a for-profit enterprise, which would result in OpenAI's nonprofit board losing control of the company. OpenAI said the shift was due to the lack of "donations" the company needed to do its work and the need for a new cash injection model to incentivize stakeholders.
