OpenAI expects its 2026 loss to reach $14 billion
OpenAI is burning through $340 million in the first half of 2024, according to The Information. OpenAI's projections show the company won't be profitable until 2029, when its revenue will reach $100 billion. Before that point is reached, the company could lose as much as $14 billion by 2026, nearly triple the expected loss for this year, with total losses expected to reach $44 billion between 2023 and 2028, according to an analysis of data contained in OpenAI's financial filings. That estimate does not include stock compensation, one of OpenAI's biggest expenses, though it is not paid out in cash.
