Survey: Most scholars working in the field of quantum computing believe that quantum computing is advancing faster than expected
That's according to a recent QuEra survey of 927 people (researchers, executives, media, hobbyists, etc.) connected to the quantum computing space. Of those surveyed, 74.9% "expect quantum computing to become a better alternative to traditional computing under certain workloads in the next 10 years". When asked about the pace of development in the quantum computing space, more than half said "faster than I expected" or "much faster than I expected". In academia, that number rises to 55%.
