Hunan Pingjiang County People's Court: BKEX exchange contract transactions were characterized as gambling, and several employees and agents were sentenced
On January 30, the People's Court of Pingjiang County, Hunan Province announced a number of criminal court verdicts involving the BKEX exchange, characterizing the platform's contract transactions as gambling. The court verdict shows that the BKEX exchange was founded in Chengdu in 2018 and will launch the perpetual contract trading function in 2021. As of the incident, the platform's cumulative net profit is about 54.798 million USDT (about RMB 300 million), and the contract trading users reach 270,000, of which the active users exceed 60,000.
Because founder Ji Jiaming is on the run, the main judgment in this case is against platform employees and agents. Among them, wallet engineer Zheng Lei was sentenced to 2 years and 1 month in prison, suspended for 2 years and 1 month, and fined 150,000 yuan; Wang, who is responsible for KYC certification and fund settlement, was sentenced to 1 year and 11 months in prison and fined 52,000 yuan; agent Dong was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison, suspended for 1 year and 6 months, and fined 35,000 yuan. The relevant illegal income has been recovered and turned over to the state treasury.
