Hasu refutes controversy for Safe, Wintermute founder says his remarks distort facts

Hasu, a Safe investor, posted on social media that while the Bybit theft was due to a breach of the Safe front end rather than the Bybit infrastructure, Bybit's infrastructure was not sufficient to monitor such a simple hack. When transferring more than $1 billion, there is no reason not to verify the integrity of the message on a second offline machine. If the blame is placed on SAFE rather than Bybit here, the wrong lesson has been learned entirely. In response, Wintermute founder wishfulcynic.eth responded that his remarks were somewhat confusing and distorted (gaslighting effect). Hasu countered its series of comments that it was difficult to answer whether Safe was wrong in the incident (not because he was an investor in Safe). Safe provides a solution through a centralized front end, but it should never be relied on entirely. It believes that Safe's biggest problem is not working with big-money customers to educate them about security. The hacking of Safe developer devices is also one of the problems, but it is more important to learn from it.
