The US state department said in a statement that US Secretary of State Rubio spoke with British Foreign Secretary Lamy to discuss the March 2 summit of leaders on Ukraine convened by the UK. Rubio thanked the UK for its role in encouraging Europe to provide its own defense and promote peace in Ukraine. In addition, Rubio confirmed that the United States is ready to negotiate an end to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and will continue to work with the UK to promote peace in Ukraine.
