President of El Salvador: Will not stop increasing bitcoin holdings due to IMF agreement
El Salvador's Nayib Bukele said on the X platform that El Salvador has no intention of stopping buying bitcoin (BTC), regardless of what the international monetary fund (IMF) requests.
"'All this will stop in April.'" All this will stop in June. "All this will stop in December," Bukele wrote on the X platform. "No, it will not stop, and we will not and will not stop if the world rejects us and most'bitcoin users' abandon us. Proof of Work > Proof of Complaint."
Earlier in the day, the international monetary fund (IMF) released more details of its agreement with the Latin American country to 3.50 billion dollars, claiming that as part of its lending program, the IMF prohibits "the voluntary accumulation of bitcoin by the public sector".
