The US Treasury Secretary: There is no reason for a recession, and tariff rates will be allocated separately to each country

U.S. Treasury Secretary Vincent Bescent said the U.S. economy is on a healthy footing and there is no reason for a recession, while rejecting the idea of a guarantee that there won't be one. "I can't guarantee anything," Bescent said. Regarding the reciprocal tariffs to be announced on April 2, Bescent said, "I haven't seen the numbers yet, and the process will involve assigning specific tariffs to each trading partner. In some cases, countries may avoid reciprocal tariffs. Other trading partners may seek to negotiate lower tariff levels after receiving quotas." (Kim X)
