Informed sources: Zelensky supports proposal to stop attacks on energy facilities

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky agreed to halt strikes on Russian energy assets, according to people familiar with the matter, in the first step by U.S. President Donald Trump to end the three-year conflict. Zelensky conveyed the message to Trump on the phone on Wednesday, the person said, speaking on condition of anonymity, adding that the two sides agreed to work to further expand the ceasefire. Trump also said the call was "very good" and that discussions were "going as planned." Zelensky's conversation with Trump came a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin told Trump he was willing to limit attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure as a first step, but disagreed with a full ceasefire pushed by the United States.
