NEO founder Da Hongfei: The social media account was hacked due to phishing emails, and has now regained control
NEO founder Da Hongfei posted on the X platform that he has now regained control of the X account and expressed his sincere apologies to the community because the incident may have caused confusion or inconvenience to the community. According to Da Hongfei, on July 6, at 11:30 pm Singapore time, he received an email asking for a password reset. When he saw the email 50 minutes later, he realized that the X account had been locked. The hacker changed his X account password, enabled two-factor authentication (2FA), and then started posting tweets containing scam links. This intrusion was due to his previous connection of multiple third-party websites/applications (office and calendar management services) to the email. The hacker somehow exploited these permissions to gain read access to the content of my emails.
